THE MOST ANTICIPATED RELAYS IN KADUNA IS BACK

It’s good to be back. We are very glad that the MA Athletics Relays can make a return for the third edition. The MA Relays each year is one of the most anticipated relays in Kaduna. For Kaduna athletes, it might feel that way even more so this year. Obviously, this was meant to happen in 2020 but because of the coronavirus pandemic, it did not happen in December 2020, so we are really pleased that it can now return for Kaduna athletes and athletes everywhere. 2019 Men's 4×400m Musa Audu (MA) Athletics embarked on the creation of the annual relay meet, in a bid to reward Kaduna and Nigerian Athletics stars for their efforts in keeping the passion of Athletics alive in the hearts of millions of Nigerians; through their efforts in local and international events.  Musa Audu Relays is a one-day meet to recognize and celebrate outstanding performances by our athletics men and women at local and international level in the course of the season. In view of the developing situation linked to the COVID-19 pandemic, In recent weeks, sports organisations around the world have been forced to confront the reality that the coronavirus is likely to have a significant impact on the industry – not just in the short term, but also the long term. As the virus has spread, an increasing number of sporting events have either been staged behind closed doors, postponed or, increasingly, cancelled outright. In this regards, the Kaduna 2nd Edition Primary schools athletics championship and 5th Edition Secondary schools sports festival will not be able to be held on the dates initially scheduled. In conjunction with our Stakeholders and Partners approved the new dates this week after extensive discussions with them has now been postponed until 2021 academics session due to the current situation as we all know. THE IMPORTANCE OF PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT IN YOUTH SPORTS It is not surprising that research overwhelmingly points to a connection between positive, supportive parental involvement and a child’s level of enjoyment and success in the sport he or she is involved in. It has also been suggested that a moderate level of involvement would be the optimum level of parental involvement.  Parents who are over-involved may create high level of pressure, while uninvolved parents do not provide enough support to facilitate a child’s desire to participate in sport,but those parents who are moderately involved seem to provide just the right balance not only to facilitate enjoyment, but also to challenge the child to continue to grow and develop his or her skills. HAJARA HARUNA BIOGRAPHY Hajara Haruna original sporting passion was football. She took up football in her sophomore year at high school. Given her athletic physique, friends, teachers and family encouraged her to take up sports despite coming from a society of female involvement in sport is not common. In her late high school, she began to take an interest in athletics. She participated in a number of disciplines early on, competing in 100m,200m and the relays events at the school championships and winning a medal in each. In 2016, the journey of Hajara to athletics stardom began, where her childhood friend Abdulhakeem Idris suggested to her if she enjoyed sports, she should take up athletics, as she was already regularly beating the boys in her class in sprints but at that moment it took awhile before she give up her dreams of football. COACH ABDULHAKEEM IDRIS BIOGRAPHY Abdulhakeem Idris  is a practical example of CFASF motto's, 3Ds discovery, developing and delivering. He was discovered in October 2016 during an inter house sports in his college (Challawa Schools Barnawa) where he caught the attention of Coach Felix. His performance earned him a call up to the foundation,while he was schooling and training under Coach Felix which he obtained modern and scientific athletics training which made him a youth athlete to beat in Kaduna state as a whole in both 400m and 800m. He made his debut outing for CFASF at AFN all-comers Abuja in November 2017 in both 400m and 800m.He was at the AFN golden league Kaduna. AYOMIDE A. OYETUNJI BIOGRAPHY Ayomide A. Oyetunji has come a long way since being discovered by coach Felix at national youth games Ilorin and has won several medals in secondary school,university and state level. He made his debut outing for CFASF at AFN all-comers Abuja in November 2017 where he ran a then Personal Best (PB) of 11.33s.He lowered his PB to 11.04 at AFN Golden League in Kaduna 2017. He then emerge the 100m champion and a gold medalist in 4×100m of YSFON 2018 Ramat Int's cup championship in kano. But the teenager was unable to compete fully due to school engagements in 2018 season,A student of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU).Then he came back for inter faculty games at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in September he was crowned the 100m and 200m champion in preparation for 2018 west African university games(WAUG).
