CFASF END OF YEAR REVIEW

The end of a year is a good time to look back, reflecting on achievements, and to look forward, to see what we still need to accomplish. We thank God for how far HE has lead us.

Parents, We want to thank you all for letting out your child to participate in our programmes,  and trusting us with them everyday. Most of you did not have a choice, but I hope that if you did, you would have done it the same way.  We especially want to thank you for raising such an amazing children.  Parents being involved in their own child’s life leads them to more opportunities for success; this group of kids has shown so many positive qualities and we know this all starts at home.

Special appreciation to our partners who have continued our success journey; Micromanna Computers Limited, The Cavendish School , individual partners such as Mr and Mrs Onikeku, Musa Audu, Olusoji Fasugba, Princess Mabel Madojiemu, and organisations partners; Zonal Hq Ministry of Youth & Sports, Kaduna State Ministry of Sports Development, Kaduna State Chapter YSFON , We appreciate your expertise and encouragement to all of our Student-Athletes. We also want to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of our programs all through 2019.
Finally, special thanks to our Student-Athletes for their level of discipline, dedication and determination.

The year has been full of change. These results were achieved under the auspices our of structured academics and sports programmes.

Nevertheless, for the purpose of this review, we shall attempt an overview of these activities.

It was a Intensive three month activities (October,2018- February, 2019 for our Founder and Head Coach CFASF,Osiebe Felix Onoriode who is their Sports Facilitator.

First African Universities Olympic,Cairo
It was all set for Ayomide A. Oyetunji to represented Ahmadu Bello University but at the end of the day Team A.B.U. could not secured a visa to Egypt.

U-18 and U-20 National Championship,Ilaro
Team CFASF traveled with five athletes (John Monday,Judge Jonathan,Temitope Olusesan, Ayomide A. Oyetunji, Vivian Anagwonye.) which was led by the Founder and Head Coach CFASF; Felix Oseibe.Temitope Olusesan smashed her PB from 63.74 to 59.97s while competing in 400m Final B where she finished second in the race.Ayomide A. Oyetunji ran a season's best of 10.90 in the 100m to finished sixth position where he made Team NIGERIA U-20 CAA Championship.

The Cavendish Schools Sports Competition.
CFASF went to 6th edition of The Cavendish school sport competition.The Cavendish school are among CFASF foundation partners and the primary schools in Kaduna that consult from CFASF.The Cavendish school Boy's  and girls athletics team clinched the gold in 4×100m of inter primary schools,all through the hard work of Coach Felix,Coach Abdul and athlete Temitope.

2019 Second Edition of Intensive Holiday Academics and Sports Clinic
We covered academics areas like Mathematics,English,French and Computer Science.We engaged kids in Sports activities such as Athletics,Scrabbles, Chess,Football etc.

Kajuru IDPs Adara Town Hall Camp visitation.
CFASF visited Kajuru IDPs Adara Town Hall Camp located in Kaduna metropolis, the aim of CFASF on the visit is to sympathise with the victims, console them and to donate some items.

Swimming lesson
After the visitation to the IDPs camp,the student-athlete went for a swimming lesson at Prestigue hotel Barnawa,Kaduna on April 22, 2019.The aim of the lesson is to teach the kids how to swim and also encourage them to swim regularly it  have significant benefits for both their health and safety.

World University Game (FISU) trials.
At 2019 World University Games (FISU) trials where  Ayomide A. Oyetunji represented Ahmadu Bello University and ran a new Personal Best of 21.69s to win the men's 200m final. But Nigeria did not send any athlete to the Games.

IAAF Coaching Course
Abdulhakeem Idris emerged the youngest World Athletics Certified Youth Coach after successful completion of the IAAF Coaches Education and Certification System Level 1 Youth Coaching Course. It was recommended and Sponsored by CFASF for the Coaching Course due to the level of dedication and the love and passion he has for kids athletics.

Favour Dare Signing
It was the day that Favour Dare was officially announced as CFASF member.She was CFASF first edition of Intensive Holiday, Academics and Sports Clinic product and she was discovered there.

African Games Athletics Trials,Abuja
Team CFASF traveled with two athletes (Judge Jonathan and Temitope Olusesan.) which was led by the Founder and Head Coach CFASF; Felix Oseibe.

Maiden Invitational Athletics Meet For Kaduna Primary schools
The athletics meet was organized by  Coach Felix Academics and Sports Foundation in collaboration with Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria,Kaduna State Chapter.Events;Calisthenics display, 100m,200m,70m Hurdles,4×100m mixed relay and long jump which was only children below 11 years old, over 15 schools featured at this year edition. The Cavendish Schools emerged the champion,one of the primary schools Coach Abdulhakeem trains.

Secondary Schools Sports Festival
The Sport Festival was organized by  Coach Felix Academics and Sports Foundation in collaboration with Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria,Kaduna State Chapter.Events;Under 15: 100m, 200m, 400m, long jump, high jump, shot put, 4x100m, 4x100 mixed relay, chess,  Scrabble, table tennis, badminton and football.Above 15: 100m, 400m, 1500m and 4x400m.Faith Academy made it four wins in a row at the secondary schools sports festival, where Founder and Head Coach CFASF,Osiebe Felix Onoriode is their Sports Facilitator.

Training Session with Deji Aliu
African Record holder in 50m and Nigeria’s National Record (NR) holder in the 60m Deji Aliu,who took the team CFASF athletes on sprint start.Currently the Head Coach of Making of Champion track and field in Lagos.

Nigerian Track and Field Championship
Team CFASF had a great time during the championship. Temitope broke 13s for the first time while competing in the women’s 100m heat at her first outing at the National Championships, which was an improvement from the time of 13.36s set at African Games Trials to 12.86s.CFASF's talented sprinter set a PB of 12.86s to finish 2nd in the race .In the semis, she was the youngest in all the semifinal races where she finished 7th in a time of 12.90s.Ayomide A. Oyetunji erased his former PB of 10.73 set at 2018 National Sport Festival to 10.68s to win heat 4 of the Men's 100m at the 2019 All Nigerian Championship and won the heat 5 of the 200m in 22.26s

It was a trials for the selection of athletes that will represent Kaduna at the 5th edition of National Youth Games, Ilorin.

Summer Kids Camp
Summer kids camp organized by Manna kiddies Academy in collaboration with Coach Felix Academics and Sports Foundation.We covered Academics areas like Mathematics,English,French and Computer Science.We feed the kids with Assorted Foods and Drinks throughout the camp.We engaged kids in Sports activities such as Athletics,Scrabbles, Chess,Football etc.

CAF Confederation Cup Preliminary Round
CFASF media team covered and gave live update between Niger Tornadoes(Nigeria) vs Santoba FC( Guinea) for CAF Confederation Cup Preliminary Round at Ahmadu Bello stadium,Kaduna.

Bishop's Cup
CFASF Media team went to Ungwan Yelwa  Primary school Football pitch for the biggest Football competition in Kaduna organized by Living Faith Church Barnawa,Kaduna called Bishop's Cup.It featured one hundred twenty-eight(128) team across Kaduna.

TEDxBaranawa
CFASF Founder and Head Coach Osiebe Felix Onoriode was a speaker at the program,he spoke on athletics as a career.TEDxBarnawa is an independently organised TED event operated under license from TED.It is a one day event feauturing prominent speakers from different fields that will share unique ideas about their communities, their work and the world around them.

New Kits Unveiling
Officially  unveiled their 2019/2020 session new kits.As part of CFASF objectives "To provide and ensure good welfare for our Athletes".We tried  to make sure their Jersey is fresh every year,make sure they are proud to go out and represent CFASF and which it will encourage them to reach their full potential.Since the club establishment in 2016,we have kit up our athletes every September of the year for the next session.Both 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 sessions it was solely sponsored by MicroManna Limited.

National Youth Games
Five CFASF's athletes was part of nine athletes team of athletics for Kaduna at the 5th edition of National youth games in Ilorin,where the team was led by Coach Felix and Coach Abdulhakeem.

Faith Academy annual inter house sports
Conclusion of phase one of Faith Academy annual inter house sports competition.Event concluded are football, volleyball, 3000m, 1500m, by FAKD Sports Facilitator Osiebe Felix Onoriode.

MA Athletics Relay  is a meet to recognize and celebrate outstanding performances by our athletics men and women at local and international level in the course of the year.The events was;  4×100m Men and Women,4×400m Men and Women,4×200m Mixed Relay. Where team CFASF got one Gold and three Silvers.

Mrs ONIKEKU Birthday
Track and Field Coaches Association Of Nigeria (TAFCAN) Kaduna State Chapter organized relay meet for Mrs ONIKEKU to celebrae her birthday on 23rd December and just to honor their family for have been contributing to athletes welfare in Kaduna state.

CFASF Stakeholders Congress
The third Annual Coach Felix Academic and Sports Foundation (CFASF)  Stakeholders Congress but this year’s edition will be unique due to other features like Drug Education, U-18 and U-20 Athletics Championship.We are brought in professionals in the subject matter to talk with the kids, i.e Aimufua, Osayemwenre, Clinical Psychologist, Danbo International Schools, who spoke on the topic: ‘Youths and Psychoactive Substance’.Mrs Joy Alao, Guidance & Counseling Psychologist, Faith Academy, Kaduna who spoke on: ‘Juvenile delinquency’..Invited teams athletics team,club,Academies include but not limited to 1. ABU Athletics team, Zaria, 2. Run Athletics Academy, Zaria, 3.Foundation Science Team, Samaru, 4.  M.A Athletics Club, Kaduna 5. Adamu Athletics Club, ABS 6. Ortega Athletics Club, ABS 7. Flying Horse Athletics Club, Sabo 8. Sani M. Athletics Club ABS 9. Kakuri Runners Club, Kakuri 10. Kada Kids Athletics Academy, Kaduna etc.The program was chaired by athletics Veteran Samuel Onikeku.


Next year, we will see further our development and improvement. Something which we are excited and passionate about. Team CFASF will continue to  enhance the level of performance of talented athletes and increase the rate of sports development in the region. We will provide opportunity for student-athletes to fully develop their academics and athletics potential. We want each athlete to grow as athletes and in life to the highest standard. To be part of our success our doors are opens for sponsorship considerations from other corporate organisations and public spirited individuals.
