TEMITOPE OLUSESAN BIOGRAPHY
Temitope Olusesan was discovered by coach Felix at the 2017 secondary schools games Kaduna.
She made her debut outing for Kaduna at the 2017 national youth games Ilorin where she ran a then personal best of 63.87s in the 400m and 2.37.97s in the 800m. It was a remarkable achievement for the 13-year old girl that year.
In 2018 season,School activities prevented the young girl from training and competing at a number of events.
At the 2018 secondary schools sports festival in Kaduna where she ran 68.10s in the 400m and 29.60s in the 200m for Demonstration school.
She lowered her PB to 63.74s in the 400m at 2018 national youth games Ilorin.
She open her 2019 season at u-18 and u-20 national trials held at Ilaro,Ogun state between 14th-17th March, 2019 where she smashed her PB from 63.74 to 59.97s while competing in 400m Final B where she finished second in the race.
Temitope broke 13s for the first time while competing in the women’s 100m heat at her first outing at the National Championships, which was an improvement from the time of 13.36s set at last month’s African Games Trials to 12.86s.CFASF's talented sprinter set a PB of 12.86s to finish 2nd in the race that was won by Ogundiran Blessing 11.76s.In the semis, she was the youngest in all the semifinal races where she finished 7th in a time of 12.90s.Few minutes after the 100m, Temitope went for women's 400m where she finished 3rd in 60.1s.The following day, She continued her impressive performance by racing to a new PB in the 200m clocking the time of 26.59s.
At the National Youth Games Ilorin,She only competed in 200m where she ran three PB's in two days; 26.38s (Heat),26.25s (Semifinals) and 26.04s (Final).
At the CFASF third stake holders Congress 2019 she was awarded high performance athlete.This award is presented to a CFASF athlete who has demonstrated extraordinary individual performancet as measured from the beginning to the end of the season.
In her first race of 2020, she ran a season's best of 12.3 in the 100 metres finishing behind Ishaya Gochin Rotkang who ran 12.1 at the Phase one of National sports festival trials. At the Phase two of National sports festival trials, there was a reversal of finishes in the 400 metres where she claimed victory in a time of 59.46.
In a dramatic race, Temitope claimed the title ahead of Taiye Micheal, She did this in a personal best of 58.9 at the Kaduna state sports festival. She went on to put on an inspired performance in the 800m clinching another individual Gold medal and then settled for Silver in long jump. She played a pivotal role in the women’s 4x100m and 4×400m where they finished with Gold respectively. It was such a spectacular performance from Temitope Olusesan that she was named the Most Valuable Athlete at the Kaduna state sports festival.
