First Edition of Kaduna State Inter Zonal Athletics Competition which is set on 3rd and 4th, February,2021

Kaduna State Athletic Association will be organising a two day Zonal Athletic Competition in honor of the Hon. Commissioner of Sports Development Professor Kabir Mato


First Edition of Kaduna State Inter Zonal Athletics Competition which is set to be one of the most vital events in the annual calendar of the Kaduna Athletics Association Kaduna State (KAA), with the competition set to serve as an essential and the perfect ground to have a assessment ahead of a resounding success at the 20th National Sports Festival holding in two weeks time in Benin, Edo State. 


The during the Kaduna Athletics Stakeholders meet on Thursday 21st January, 2021, The Hon.Commissioner of Sports Professor Kabir Mato represented by Technical Director of Sports Mr Yohanna Waziri, said the step is a wake up call in reviving and development of athletics in the state.  


"He added that Kaduna State Governor  Mallam Nasir Ahmed El-rufai  is committed to develop sports sector to a world class level, taking into awareness sports for all, amateur and professional sports by providing programs and facilities that encourage stakeholders to perform at their best in pursuit of excellence, while benchmarking with best practices for continual development."

"He further stated that in effort to revived sporting  activities at the grassroots level the Ministry in collaboration with the kaduna state Athletic Association will be organising a two day zonal athletic competition in honor of the Hon. Commissioner of Sports Development Professor Kabir Mato".


The event will strictly observe the Sports Ministry’s Covid-19 Sports Code and Protocol and after a successful zonal elimination done on 26th January, 2020.

The elimination was done across three zonal region of the state, with each zone presenting twenty athletes.


Date: 4th and 5th, February,2021.

Venue: Mainbowl Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna.


The stage has been set, indeed it should be a mouthwatering two days event and looking forward to a great performances from the athletes through the season.

AYOMIDE A. OYETUNJI BIOGRAPHY Ayomide A. Oyetunji has come a long way since being discovered by coach Felix at national youth games Ilorin and has won several medals in secondary school,university and state level. He made his debut outing for CFASF at AFN all-comers Abuja in November 2017 where he ran a then Personal Best (PB) of 11.33s.He lowered his PB to 11.04 at AFN Golden League in Kaduna 2017. He then emerge the 100m champion and a gold medalist in 4×100m of YSFON 2018 Ramat Int's cup championship in kano. JAPHETH ABASHE BIOGRAPHY

Japheth Abashe a multi-talented person,where he picked an interest in sports from his childhood,he have been with coach Felix since from his early age. The young star has won several medals in secondary,university and state level. Coach Felix encouraged him to focus his energy on improving his athletic abilities when he was in ss1 in Faith Academy,the school had a history of success in athletics with past students. His first outing as an CFASF and representing Kaduna at the 2017 national youth games Ilorin for long jump where he finished 5th position. At the 2017 secondary schools games Kaduna where he won the long jump and helped his team to a gold medal in 4×100m.
